£15m Spurs target likes Instagram comment which says see you at Crystal Palace next season

By the looks of it, Crystal Palace are closing in on their first signing of the summer window, as a move for Tottenham target Cheick Doucoure nears.

According to reports, the south Londoners are close to securing a £15m deal for the 22-year-old, who was also wanted by Aston Villa.

Now, Doucoure himself has added fuel to the fire by liking an interesting comment on Instagram.

What’s the story?

Well, the Crystal Palace fans caught wind of this rumour, and proceeded to flock to Doucoure’s Instagram page to bombard him with messages.

There were a number of comments, such as “welcome to Crystal Palace” and “see you at Selhurst in the summer” – there are too many to reference them all.

Intriguingly, the defensive midfielder smashed the like button on the latter comment, which has understandably excited the Crystal Palace supporters.

So far this season, Doucoure has made 34 appearances in all competitions for RC Lens this season, scoring one goal while also providing four assists.

It comes after Tottenham made a serious approach for the Mali international last summer, but RC Lens stood firm and denied him a move to the Premier League.

Now, it seems Doucoure is finally going to taste life in England’s top-flight.

In our view, if the Eagles can get this deal over the line, it would be a tremendous signing.

Doucoure has been described as an “incredibly complete” midfielder, and has also been compared to one of the best in the business.

The Malian has been likened to Liverpool powerhouse Fabinho, so you can understand why Patrick Vieira is willing to spend £15m of his budget on the RC Lens No.28.

With the likes of Cheikhou Kouyate and James McArthur getting on a bit, it would be fantastic business by Crystal Palace to secure a long-term replacement for a reasonable fee – be sure to keep an eye on this saga.
