Newcastle face Chelsea this weekend in a huge Premier League fixture, and this summer could see the two clubs do business with one another if reports are to be believed.

According to the Telegraph this week, the Magpies are keen on signing Antonio Rudiger, whose contract expires at the end of this season and is being eyed by some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Newcastle now in the mix.

As well as the Chelsea defender, Timo Werner has also been linked with a move to St. James Park, with the German international eager to move on from west London after a more than unaspiring two seasons with the Premier League side.

Indeed, Newcastle are looking to improve their squad, and Chelsea’s outcasts could prove to be a valuable source for Eddie Howe’s side. So with that in mind, which three players could the Toon sign from the reigning UEFA Champions League holders this summer?

Kepa Arrizabalaga

The first and only this player to actually be linked with a move to Newcastle in recent weeks, Chelsea are reportedly open to letting Kepa Arrizabalaga walk this summer, with the Spanish international yet to reclaim his place between the sticks from Edouard Mendy.

And if recent reports have suggested that Newcastle are keen on the £155k-a-week shot-stopper, with Howe looking to improve the goalkeeping situation at the Magpies ahead of next season.

With Chelsea open to selling and Kepa seemingly a target for Newcastle, there is a strong chance the 27-year-old could make the move north to take the number one spot at St. James Park after a failed £72m move with Chelsea.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

It’s pretty easy to forget that Ruben Loftus-Cheek is still at Chelsea given how little he has featured this season, yet the 26-year-old remains with the Blues ahead of a summer that could see the midfielder depart Stamford Bridge, and Newcastle could be perfect.

The England international has proven with Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Fulham that he has the quality to star in the Premier League, and a permanent move to Newcastle could see the best version of Loftus-Cheek we as fans can possibly see.

With the Toon also looking for a central midfielder this summer, Newcastle can prove to be a perfect home for Loftus-Cheek, who is in need of a new home where he can play regular football under a manager who will be willing to develop him into the player we know he can become.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

From one Cobham academy graduate to another, Callum Hudson-Odoi is another who is surprisingly still on Chelsea’s books, and just like Loftus-Cheek, Newcastle could be a perfect new home for the 21-year-old winger.

It is easy to forget that the England youth international is still one of the top prospects in the Premier League, and with Newcastle needing more quality out on the wings and the attack, Hudson-Odoi is an ideal signing for Howe ahead of the summer.

Indeed, with the attacker also not a guaranteed starter at Chelsea, Newcastle can offer Hudson-Odoi a platform to flourish and unlock his frightening potential that the Blues are yet to get out from the attacker.
