On Thursday, it was reported that Kyle Walker-Peters is on Tottenham Hotspur‘s radar.

According to 90 Min, the Southampton right-back, who joined the Saints from Spurs for £12 million two years ago, is a potential target for the Lilywhites in January.

Walker-Peters began his career at Tottenham and it’s clear that he remains tight with some of his former teammates.

Harry Kane was of course named in the England World Cup squad on Thursday.

Afterwards, the 29-year-old hitman posted a message about his inclusion and captaincy on Instagram – and Walker-Peters was among those to respond.

In response to Kane, the English defender simply wrote, ‘Congrats bro!’.

It goes without saying that despite being one of the world’s finest goalscorers, Kane is yet to win a trophy in his career.

He came close in 2021 when Gareth Southgate’s side reached the final of Euro 2020, only to lose on penalties to Italy in the final.

And how the Tottenham attacker would absolutely love to go one better in Qatar this time around.

As for Walker-Peters, well he won’t be there but he’ll be rooting on his countrymen – and potential future teammates – during the competition.

Since leaving Spurs, he has blossomed into a proven Premier League quality player and it’ll be interesting to see if the speculation about a return to Hotspur Way has any substance.
