Speculation is mounting that Arthur Melo has suffered a major injury at Liverpool.
According to James Pearce of The Athletic, as covered by HITC Sport, the Juventus loanee has sustained a new injury that could keep him sidelined for another four months.
Arthur has only managed 13 minutes of senior football for Liverpool since arriving on a deadline-day loan from Turin.
And if this injury report is true, it’s possible that the Brazil international – who earns £125,000 per week at Anfield [SalarySport] – is already finished on Merseyside.
That’s because it was possible Liverpool were only planning to use Arthur as a stop-gap until the transfer window re-opened in January anyway, with Jurgen Klopp suffering an injury crisis of midfield options.

But by the time Arthur is fit again, the German manager should, in theory, have a full compliment of midfielders available again, not to mention possibly additional ones signed in January.
In other words, the Anfield outfit might have absolutely zero need or use for the South American by the time he’s available to play again and with that in mind it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if Liverpool seek to cancel his loan.
It was reported in Italy in September that was already being discussed among Klopp and his staff, something that Guillem Balague emphatically denied.
But in light of this development, well let’s just say it’s distinctly plausible that the player won’t kick a ball for Liverpool ever again.
Tragically, his Reds career might be over before it even started.
