Guillem Balague has revealed that Liverpool have ‘no intention’ of axing Arthur Melo in the January transfer window.
Liverpool only signed the Brazil international on loan from Juventus a couple of weeks ago in the final hours of the summer window.
However, TMW in Italy reported this week – as covered by HITC Sport – that the Reds could terminate the agreement this winter because Jurgen Klopp is apparently unimpressed by the 26-year-old’s standard in training thus far.
But reliable Spanish journalist Balague has rubbished the suggestion.
Taking to Twitter, Balague revealed that those at the Axa Training Centre are still assessing Arthur and that the player himself has actually been congratulated by Klopp’s coaching staff due to his willingness to succeed.

Arthur has only managed 13 minutes of competitive football in a Liverpool shirt since arriving on Merseyside.
However, it’s worth pointing out that he wasn’t as fit as the rest of his Reds teammates at the time of joining, which explains his delayed impact.
But with Klopp’s side not having a game until October due to the international break, the former Barcelona midfielder has a fortnight to continue working on his fitness.
Dumping Arthur as early as January would not only be a risk, but completely illogical.
The reason Liverpool signed him is because Klopp desperately needed another midfielder and with FSG unlikely to sanction any mega-money transfers during the winter window, the German manager would and could be shooting himself in the foot if his latest addition is disposed of prematurely.
