Tottenham Hotspur are missing more targets in January than a blind person at a shooting range.
The North Londoners have spent most of the winter transfer window trying to seduce Adama Traore.
Only for Tottenham to not offer enough and the player join Barcelona.
After that, Spurs turned their attention toward Luis Diaz and a £40 million offer straight off the bat illustrated that they’d learned from their Traore mistake.
But a day later, Liverpool offered Porto £50 million and now he’s at Anfield.
In recent days, it’s been reported that the Lilywhites were close to signing Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, with Fabrizio Romano revealing that he wanted to join the Londoners.
But the Italian journalist has revealed this afternoon that the ‘potential move has collapsed’ and that the Serie A outfit are no longer allowing the Algerian midfielder – who would’ve cost £12.5 million this summer – to join Tottenham.
Another blow
Indeed, this is yet another piece of disappointment for Tottenham.
They have solved their wide issue because Dejan Kulusevski looks set to join on loan from Juventus.
But Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici also wanted a midfielder and in light of the Amrabat development, it’s even more important now that Spurs don’t fail to sign Rodrigo Bentancur of Juve, too.
