£10 million Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral is undergoing a medical at West Ham United as he closes in on a long-awaited move to the Premier League, according to Russian publication Sport Box.
And here we were assuming Kral’s disappointing displays at Euro 2020 had cost him the chance to reunite with Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal at the London Stadium.
The Czech Republic international was expected to put pen to paper with the Hammers three months ago.
But a deal that looked to have fallen through earlier this summer is now back on the cards, springing into life with just a few hours left of a frantic transfer window.

West Ham are expected to sign Kral on an initial loan agreement with an option-to-buy clause included – a deal similar to the one that saw fellow Czech Republic international Soucek move to England initially on a short-term basis in January 2020.
And, according to reports coming out of Russia, the poodle-haired, tough-tackling 23-year-old is now undergoing a medical.
Kral would become the second Moscow-based midfielder to join David Moyes’ squad on deadline day, following in the footsteps of CSKA’s former Everton youngster Nikola Vlasic.
In May, Kral’s agent Karol Kisel admitted West Ham had held talks with the former Slavia Prague man.
Considering Kral has been linked on and off with the London giants for the best part of 18 months, you wouldn’t imagine personal terms would be much of an issue.
“I can confirm we were in England where we had more talks about Alex,” said Kisel.
