Callum McManaman’s Newcastle switch may not happen

The Shields Gazette is reporting that Callum McManaman’s proposed move to Newcastle United may be dependent on what happens with Moussa Sissoko’s future.

The West Brom winger is free to leave the Hawthorns for the Magpies this summer, but the Shields Gazette suggests that any deal could be relying on the Frenchman moving on.

Tottenham appear to be leading the chase for the midfielder, but the Shields Gazette adds that Crystal Palace, Everton and West Brom are also interested.

Manchester United reject Darmian bid

Manchester United have rejected Inter Milan’s bid for right-back Matteo Darmian, according to The Sun’s live transfer feed (August 31st, 8.26am).

The Italian is yet to make a competitive appearance under new Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho, but it appears that the defender features in the Portuguese’s plans in some capacity for the time-being after the move was turned down.

Everton have confirmed on their official website that striker Shani Tarashaj has left the club for Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old only joined the Toffees during the January transfer window, but spent the latter half of last season on loan with former club Grasshoppers and has not featured for Ronald Koeman’s men so far this term.

Middlesbrough striker set to stay put

Sky Sports have reported on their live transfer feed (August 31st, 9.18am) that Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes is expected to remain at the Riverside Stadium beyond the summer window.

HITC Sport reported earlier in the window that Sheffield Wednesday were interested in signing the 26-year-old, and that Boro were willing to sell for around £10m, but it appears that the Owls – and any other teams chasing his signature – have now cooled their interest.
