Paul Merson has written on SportsKeeda that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool should make a move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in the summer transfer window.

The former Arsenal star believes that Bellingham would make Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool better and would be a good signing for the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.

The Sky Sports pundit has said that the Reds need to sign a midfielder this summer.

Liverpool urged to sign Jude Bellingham

Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “I think Liverpool are crying out for a midfield player. I don’t think their midfield is strong enough. Jude Bellingham is a good player, and I think he would be a great signing.

“Liverpool are currently relying solely on their full-backs for energy. Thiago’s not a box-to-box midfielder, and Jordan Henderson is another year older.

“They need legs in midfield, and Jude Bellingham could be that box-to-box presence for the side.”

Could a transfer happen this summer?

In our opinion, it is unlikely that Liverpool will be able to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.

Dortmund have already sold a big-name player in Erling Haaland this summer, and we do not think that the German club will want to cash in on another top player now.

Now, of course, we know that in football money talks, but we do not expect Liverpool to pay the kind of money that Dortmund would want now.

The Athletic have reported that Liverpool have interested in signing Bellingham, but for next summer, and he would cost £103 million.

England international midfielder Bellingham, 19 scored three goals and gave eight assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances last season.
