Fabrizio Romano revealed on Wednesday that a new contract for Alisson is in the pipeline for Liverpool over the coming weeks.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has another three years left on his existing deal at Anfield.

But Alisson, a £66 million signing from Roma in 2018, wants fresh terms, according to the Italian journalist.

He told his Here We Go podcast: “Keep an eye on Alisson because he wants to extend his contract at Liverpool. It could be a topic in the next [few] weeks.”

Alisson has been a monster of a goalkeeper for Jurgen Klopp these past few years and any extension would be superb news.

Here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted to the revelation from Romano on Twitter:

Hero

In terms of form, Alisson had quite some very rocky spells for Liverpool this past season.

But he gradually improved and of course, who could forget his heroic last-minute winner to beat West Brom?

From a corner, Alisson directed a fantastic header into the far corner as Klopp’s side beat Albion 2-1 earlier this month.

It would prove a massive three points and one that ultimately hleped Liverpool qualify for the Champions League.

That right there summed up his importance and what a brilliant piece of news a contract extension would be.
