Reiss Nelson left Arsenal in the summer for a loan spell at Feyenoord, and the 22-year-old winger was on sensational form for the Dutch giants on Sunday.
The England youth international started his seventh game-in-a-row as Arne Slot’s side welcomed Heracles Almelo in a huge Eredivise fixture, and Nelson was the star of the show in a 4-1 win.
The Arsenal youngster bagged an assist just 20 minutes in after a neat one-two with Orkun Kokcu saw the Turkish international fire the ball from a tight angle to make it 1-1.
And five minutes before half-time, Nelson was on the scoresheet himself as the attacker lashed one in from close range following a Feyenoord corner to bag his first league goal of the season.
Indeed, the celebrations from the Feyenoord squad summed up the moment, with the team relieved that Nelson had finally scored in the Eredivisie after 20 appearances in the Dutch top-flight.
More was to come, though, as Nelson put Feyenoord 3-1 up just before the break after his flick inside the area found the feet of Guss Til, who had an easy finish past the Heracles keeper.
Statement Feyenoord performance will be huge for Nelson’s confidence

With Slot labelling Nelson’s performance as ‘spectacular’ as per Voetbal Primeur, the Arsenal loan star’s display this weekend was a statement showing for the 22-year-old, who has now set himself up for a strong end to the season.
Indeed, Feyenoord will be hoping for success in the UEFA Europea Conference League a top-three finish in the Eredivise, and with Nelson now finding his feet, the Dutch giants could have a serious weapon on their hands.
