Southampton are said to have bid for the Manchester City goalkeeper, who spent last season on loan with Norwich City.

A reported Southampton target has responded to one Saints player’s tweet.
Harrison Reed scored in Southampton’s 3-3 draw against Schalke 04 in China on Thursday, and posted afterwards: “First 45 mins under the belt ✅ very tough in these conditions! And it’s always nice to get on the scoresheet ⚽️ #saintsfc
And that prompted the following reply from Angus Gunn, who spent last season playing alongside Reed at Norwich City:
According to Goal, Southampton have offered £15 million to sign Gunn from Manchester City, despite having tied Alex McCarthy, the man who ended the 2017-18 campaign as Saints’ first choice goalkeeper, to a new deal this summer.
And one Southampton supporter believes Gunn’s message is an indication a deal could indeed be on the cards.
What the future holds for Reed remains to be seen, although his goal does little harm to his chances of staking a claim at St Mary’s this coming campaign.
The pair were regulars during their season-long spells at Norwich, although neither player is expected to return to Carrow Road this summer.
