Southampton are reportedly set to rival Leeds United for Manchester City’s Angus Gunn.

According to Goal, Southampton have offered £15million for Manchester City goalkeeper Angus Gunn, which could scupper Leeds United’s hopes of a loan deal.
The Saints saw Fraser Forster struggle between the sticks last season, leading to Alex McCarthy earning a starting role under Mark Hughes – but another goalkeeper may still be wanted.
Now, Goal report that Southampton want to land Manchester City’s Angus Gunn, and have already offered a deal worth a whopping £15million to lure him to the South Coast.

It’s claimed that City are ready to cash in on Gunn, but would insist on a buy-back clause in the deal, as they may look to bring the goalkeeper back to the Etihad Stadium in the future.
Gunn, 22, joined City from hometown club Norwich in 2011, but has yet to make a first-team appearance for Pep Guardiola’s men, and he spent last season on loan with former club Norwich too.
The England Under-21 international starred for the Canaries last season, but with Ederson and Claudio Bravo ahead of him in the pecking order, it seems that City are ready to let the goalkeeper leave.

Southampton’s offer should be hugely appealing to City, but it would also be a major blow for Leeds United given their ongoing pursuit of the goalkeeper this summer.
As reported by The Sun on Tuesday, Leeds are ‘desperate’ to land Gunn on loan for the season, but if £15million and a buy-back clause are on offer with Southampton, the Whites may find that they can’t compete.
