The rise of celebrity boxing has led to some interesting match ups over the past few years.
Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul, Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul and Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather have been some of the strangest bouts we’ve ever seen in boxing.
Of course, this is an area of the sport that is only growing, and there have been rumours of a bout between two legends of soccer.
Indeed, it’s been suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Sergio Ramos could step in the ring together.
However, speaking to Polish outlet, Kanal Sportowy, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has shot down those rumours, but he has suggested an alternative fight.
Is Tyson Fury done at the top level?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic calls out Tyson Fury
Zlatan was asked if there was any truth to the idea that he may fight Sergio Ramos.
Ibrahimovic and Ramos were long-term rivals on the pitch, particularly as they played for Barcelona and Real Madrid at different points of their careers.
However, Ibrahimovic said he has no interest in that fight, instead claiming that the only person he would box is Tyson Fury.
“Some rumours have been appearing that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is going to fight Sergio Ramos in the ring in boxing,” Ibrahimovic was asked.
“Fake news my friend. Fake. The only one I would fight is Tyson Fury, that’s my measure, heavyweight, and my level, Sergio is all fake news,” Ibrahimovic said.
“So a prediction for the Fury fight?” Zlatan was asked.
“Let’s see – 50/50.” The soccer legend said.
Ibrahimovic may not have much boxing experience, but he is a black belt in Taekwondo, so he does have combat sport experience.
In the right setting, a fight between Ibrahimovic and Fury may be very exciting to watch, but, in a boxing match, you have to imagine this would be a one-sided victory for The Gypsy King.
