Zlatan Ibrahimovic eyes Donald Trump’s job as US president after making Fox Sports hosting debut

Former LA Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is certainly making a name for himself with the American audience during the FIFA World Cup 2026. 

Ibrahimovic is part of the FOX Sports team analyzing the World Cup alongside Thierry Henry and former USMNT defender Alexi Lalas.

The 44-year-old is known for his confident personality and may well have come across the radar of American supporters during his season with the Galaxy between 2018 and 2019.

However, his punditry role on FOX is surely likely to be viewed by more people, and Ibrahimovic is certainly putting his own stamp on proceedings. 

Ibrahimovic jokes about becoming US President

The former Sweden striker jokingly overtook hosting duties during the FOX show looking ahead to Portugal’s World Cup game against Colombia in Miami on Saturday night. 

As is always the way with Zlatan, he wasn’t content with merely taking over as host.

Indeed, he even joked that he’d be coming after Donald Trump’s job as president of the United States once the show with FOX was done. 

Speaking towards the end of the FOX Sports broadcast, he said: “After one month, I’m going to be the president of America!”

Ibrahimovic has certainly made many a headline in Europe over the years for his outspoken personality.

While his brilliant career across most of Europe’s leading clubs cannot be forgotten, there’s little doubt the sheer force of his personality is what makes him such an interesting character.

It will be interesting to see if Ibrahimovic becomes a household name in the US after this stint.

One of the most recognizable faces in the European soccer world for a multitude of reasons, breaking into the American market as a television personality would be the latest step in a truly remarkable career in the sport.

Ibrahimovic will be shown on TV screens in the US for the rest of the tournament, and fans who are not too aware of his personality will no doubt see more of this kind of talk for the next few weeks.
