As per a report by Calciomercato, Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech has ‘confirmed’ his desire to join Roma in January, but the deal depends on whether Nicolo Zaniolo ends up departing the club.

Hakim Ziyech to Roma depends on Zaniolo exit

It has also been mentioned that the Moroccan international has already held talks with Jose Mourinho as well.

Mourinho has reportedly assured the former Ajax fan favourite that he is set to become a guaranteed starter in Italy.

However, Hakim Ziyech will only be able to sign for Roma, if Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo departs the club in January.

After all, it was recently reported that the Italian had agreed personal terms to join Antonio Conte’s side.

If not, the Serie A giants will be unable to proceed when it comes to any transfer negotiations.

Additionally, Chelsea are expected to demand a fee of £22 million to sell the fleet-footed wideman, described by Morocco boss Walid Regragui as ‘incredible’ (via the Daily Mail).

The report mentions that Zaniolo is also expected to head out of the exit door for the same fee.

However, it is claimed that the Blues have decided to wait for a couple of days to see how things pan out.

If Nicolo Zaniolo is sold by Roma, the club will let Hakim Ziyech, who has a preference to play in Italy sign on the dotted line for Jose Mourinho and Co.

If not, talks with Everton over his sale are expected to be re-opened.

Win-win for both clubs if deals goes through

Considering Nicolo Zaniolo clearly aims to depart Roma, the club could now bring in Hakim Ziyech, who has an admirer in Jose Mourinho.

Both creators could also be handed the chance of cementing their reputations as top players, while both clubs will make additions for the pair who have a point to prove.

For the sake of both Ziyech and Zaniolo, one hopes both the deals in question goes through.
