James Milner endured an afternoon to forget as his Liverpool side were beaten by Burnley this weekend.
The midfielder made a return to Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI as they travelled to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.
He found himself in an unfamiliar role though as the German elected to play him at left-back ahead of Alberto Moreno.

The Spaniard endured an afternoon to forget in the win over Arsenal last week and Klopp was clearly looking to test Milner as a replacement.
This display will not have proved Milner can be a left-back this season though, as the stats provided by Opta demonstrate.

Defensively he was absent, failing to win a tackle or an interception during his 77 minutes on the pitch.
It was similar elsewhere too as he also failed to register a block or an effective clearance throughout while his crossing accuracy was also a lowly 10%.
Luckily his passing was better as he managed 87 accurate passes, four of which were key passes, and enjoyed an overall pass success of 94%, but his display nevertheless proves he is not a long-term option at left-back.
