Liverpool fans on Twitter are gutted after the club’s official account announced that Paul Glatzel has picked up an ankle ligament injury.

The Reds haven’t had the best of luck in terms of injury as of late, with a number of first-team stars going down with serious problems, and unfortunately, their U23s are going through the same problems.

Glatzel is seen as one of Liverpool’s brightest young talents, but he’s having a lot of trouble staying fit in his early career, missing almost the whole of last season due to a cruciate ligament problem.

It was only last week that the 19-year-old was spotted training with the first-team, so that makes this update even more bitter.

It’s unknown how long this issue will keep him out for, but in any case, it’s not good to see him going down with another issue so soon after recovering from his last injury.

We can only hope that this is a small speedbump in what will otherwise be a bright career at Liverpool.

He does seem to have a lot of talent in his locker, with Jurgen Klopp describing him as a ‘wonderful player’ 18 months ago, but that talent needs to be given a chance to flourish, and in order for that to happen he has to stay injury-free.

Understandably, supporters were gutted to hear that he had picked up another injury.
