Leeds United have reportedly made an offer for Spartak Moscow striker Ze Luis this month as they look to bolster their push for Premier League promotion – and he would be an unbelievable signing.

According to Championat in Russia, Leeds have tabled an enormous £10.5million offer to land the 27-year-old striker, who has scored 11 goals in 24 games for Spartak this season.

The fee eclipses the money spent on Patrick Bamford at the start of the season, and would be the Whites’ most expensive transfer since they signed Robbie Fowler for £11million from Liverpool in November 2001.

But it would certainly be worth it for Ze Luis, who has shone at Spartak since joining the club in the summer of 2015. Since his £6million move to Spartak from Braga, the striker has scored 32 goals in 97 Spartak appearances – creating 22.

He has helped Spartak win the Russian Premier League as well as the Russian SuperCup, a similar version of the Community Shield. He has even played 20 times in European competition, scoring five goals.

Ze Luis is a predator on the box as he boasts a bit of everything. Explosive pace and acceleration makes him a nightmare to mark for defenders, but he is also excellent in the air, with his leap giving him an advantage over most defenders.

A fiery character, Leeds fans have taken to the likes of Pontus Jansson and previously Samu Saiz for their heart-on-the-sleeve performances and Ze Luis is just another example of that.

Though the transfer fee is somewhat large, Ze Luis would be an unbelievable signing for Leeds and further proof that the club is planning for Premier League football next season – after the signing of Kiko Casilla.
