Nottingham Forest fell to a 3-2 defeat at home to Brentford on Tuesday night to leave themselves not that far above the bottom three in the Championship.

Zach Clough has taken to Twitter in the wake of Nottingham Forest’s defeat to Brentford to express his disappointment at the result and also his delight to make an impact in front of goal.
Clough was a surprise absentee from Gary Brazil’s starting lineup for the clash at the City Ground after he scored twice in the victory over automatic-promotion chasers Brighton at the weekend.
And by the time, he was brought on, the game looked to be virtually over as Brentford – who were unbeaten in their previous three, winning two – held a 2-0 lead with half an hour to go.
They soon seemed to put the result beyond any doubt as Jota scored their third, but Clough and fellow substitute Ben Brereton handed Forest a lifeline late on.

Brereton scored with eight minutes to go before the January signing found the back of the net with an added-time header. But it was clearly too late to continue the comeback and the Bees held on to leave Forest in a precarious position in the Championship table, just five points above the bottom three.
And while Clough expressed on social media that he was pleased to score, his frustration at the goal meaning nothing is perhaps exemplified by the photo he has included in the Tweet which shows the muted celebrations following his header.
