Youssouf Mulumbu left Celtic on loan during the January transfer window.

Youssouf Mulumbu has insisted that Brendan Rodgers knows that he wants another go at Celtic when he returns from his loan spell, in comments reported by the Evening Times.
Mulumbu only joined the Hoops in 2018, but is already back at his former club, having returned to Kilmarnock on loan during the January transfer window.
He was arguably one of the finds of the season in the Scottish Premiership last year as he helped Killie enjoy a brilliant spell under Steve Clarke. Unfortunately, his time with Celtic has not, so far, gone to plan.
The 32-year-old only made one league appearance for the Bhoys and played a further two games in the Europa League. Given Celtic’s current success and the fact that he has already been allowed to leave on loan, some may wonder whether Mulumbu’s Parkhead career is already over.

But the midfielder insisted that he has unfinished business with the Hoops and hopes to make an impact when he returns to the champions in the summer.
“I’m here for six months to help Kilmarnock and if I do every right and if we achieve something very good, I know I’ll be back at Celtic in the summer and everything can change from there,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.
“In my head, it’s not over at Celtic. If you speak with Brendan and the lads, they know I want to go back and do great things for them.”

Unfortunately for Mulumbu, there is clearly no guarantee that he will find himself in a better position upon his return. He could have hardly done more during his first spell at Rugby Park to catch the eye, so he may feel that he needs to now do even better if he hopes to return to Celtic in a better position than the one he was in when he left.
Rodgers has a brilliant track record of helping players prove their critics wrong after difficult spells, so perhaps Mulumbu may be one of the next to benefit. But with so much quality in that Hoops midfield, it is clearly going to be an incredibly difficult ask.
