Jamie Redknapp has written in The Daily Mail that he would love Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that Liverpool have a good midfield department.

However, the former Liverpool midfielder has said that he would to see the Reds bring Belgium international Tielemans to Anfield.

Redknapp wrote in The Daily Mail: “I’m surprised they didn’t bolster their midfield this summer though. James Milner is like Peter Pan, the way he never ages, and we hope Jordan Henderson stays healthy.

“Then there’s Fabinho and Thiago. But I would have loved to see someone like Youri Tielemans snapped up.”

Liverpool interest

Tielemans has actually been linked with a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

As we covered here on HITC Sport, Het Nieuwsblad reported in June that the Reds want to sign the 24-year-old as a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

Could a transfer happen now?

The new Premier League season has already started, and it is really hard to see Leicester let go of one of their better players now.

Of course, money talks, but Leicester are a big club who have been challenging for the Champions League places in the Premier League table for the past two seasons.

Manager Brendan Rodgers will want to keep all of his best players in the team and will not want to sell Tielemans at all.

Leicester paid AS Monaco £40 million to sign Tielemans on a permanent contract in the summer of 2019, according to The Guardian.

The midfielder has scored 12 goals in 88 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
