‘You’re way too good for Arsenal’: Some fans react to seeing £36m star in Gunners shirt

Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana made a bit of a splash after being pictured in an Arsenal shirt on Saturday.

The 20-year-old is on holiday in Dubai at the moment.

And there were leaked pictures on social media yesterday of Fofana – whose best friend is William Saliba – wearing an Arsenal jersey.

It was clearly nothing to do with a transfer to North London, but it had people perplexed nonetheless.

The French defender, a £36 million signing by Leicester last summer, took to Twitter to explain that he was ‘tricked’ after a friendly game of football between friends, in which shirts were exchanged at the end.

It says quite a lot about Arsenal these days that Leicester don’t view them as a threat.

The Gunners, who were beaten to the signing of Emi Buendia by Aston Villa on Saturday, finished eighth in the Premier League last season, three places behind Brendan Rodgers’s side.

Arsenal are ‘that guy she told you not to worry about’ but in this situation there is genuinely nothing to worry about.
