Dominic Calvert-Lewin has stated that he is ‘trying my absolute best’ to be back for Everton’s clash with Liverpool on December 1st, as he told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports (01/11/21 at 7:05 pm).
The Everton striker, who is currently on the sidelines with an injury, was a guest on MNF for Sky during their live coverage of the Toffees away clash at Wolves.
It would have been hard viewing for the 24-year-old, whilst analysing the game, because his team were 2-0 down in next to no time, and it could have been worse as they ended up losing the game 2-1.
In the end, Rafa Benitez’s side, who conceded five last time out, have now lost another game and are heading towards a direction they don’t want to ahead of the Merseyside derby.
Everton clearly need Calvert-Lewin back in action and this is what Sky host David Jones, Jamie Carragher and DCL had to say about that forthcoming game yesterday.
Host David Jones stated: “There are a really tough run of games coming up for your (Calvert-Lewin) side. The fans are talking about this as well, I am sure.
“Jamie will be thinking about December 1, already.”
Carragher added: “You are not back for that, are you?”
Calvert-Lewin responded: “I don’t know. I am trying my absolute best.”

DCL has only played three Premier League games this season and he has managed to find the back of the net three times.
Everton just need his presence back upfront to, at times, paper over cracks, help them from set-piece situation and allow them to be more forward-thinking.
The problem facing Benitez’s side is that they don’t want to be heading into the Merseyside derby, after the international break, in this kind of form.
If they do then it’s going to be a pretty difficult encounter and the quicker they get back on track, the better it is for them.
