Manchester City academy star Romeo Lavia has taken to Twitter following his debut for the club.
The 17-year-old midfielder was one of many players who make their first starts for the senior team this week. City hosted League One side Wycombe Wanderers at the Etihad Stadium.
And it was a perfect night for the home side and the reigning League Cup champions as City claimed a 6-1 win over Gareth Ainsworth’s side. And for Lavia, it was a game to remember.
The Belgian youngster controlled the midfield well alongside Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne. And Lavia has since taken to Twitter to thank fans for their support during the game.
The teenage talent posted: “21/09/21. A date I’ll never forget. Buzzing to have made my debut for this unbelievable club! The support was top.”
Indeed, Lavia is regarded as one of the most exciting names coming through at City, and his Twitter post led to many supporters praising the midfielder for both his performance as well as how far he can go in the game.

Lavia has often been likened to City captain Fernandinho, and on Twitter, supporters believe that the teenager has the potential to fill in these shoes one day.
