Robbie Savage has declared his belief that Tottenham Hotspur will win the Premier League this season on BBC Radio Five Live.
Tottenham beat Manchester City 2-0 at the weekend to move to the top of the Premier League table.
Savage is now convinced that Jose Mourinho’s side are going to cause a major shock and lift the Premier League trophy for the first time ever at the end of the campaign.
But it is fair to say that Chris Sutton is less convinced, despite Tottenham’s impressive start.
“I’m going to say Spurs will win the league,” Savage announced.
“Okay, well I think you’re an idiot,” Sutton quickly responded, before Savage said: “I’ve gone early but in the last two years I have said City, give it them in September. Last year I said in September, give it to Liverpool. Now we’re in November, give it Spurs.”
Savage’s definitive claim may be a little premature, but Spurs surely have to be considered contenders at this stage.

Tottenham were hugely impressive in victory over City, and they have now collected 20 points from their first nine games this season.
Spurs’s title credentials are set to be thoroughly examined in the coming weeks though, as they face games against Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester City in the near future.
