Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to share a bizarre claim about Mohamed Salah, amid a time where the Liverpool man is in the form of his life.

What’s the story?

Well, for whatever reason, Sutton believes the goals are about to ‘dry up’ for Salah, despite his unerring consistency for Liverpool.

The 48-year-old told his 262.8k Twitter followers not to make the Liverpool No.11 their captain in Fantasy Premier League, as he feels Kevin De Bruyne is the ‘logical’ choice this week.

Sutton makes his odd claim at a time where Salah has scored 15 goals in 12 games this season, while also providing five assists.

20 goal involvements in 12 appearances is, quite simply, remarkable.

Amazingly, Salah has scored in all but one game this term – the 71-cap Egypt international only failed to score in the 2-0 win over Burnley.

Without question, he is the best player on the planet right now.

Why would the goals dry up for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool?

If Salah’s goalscoring run does ‘dry up’ as Sutton claims, we’ll have to ask him for the lottery numbers, as it’s a completely outlandish statement.

Admittedly, the Reds do have a tricky run of games coming up in the Premier League, with West Ham and Arsenal to come after Brighton.

However, that doesn’t mean Salah will fade – if anything, he steps it up in the big games, instead of hiding away.

The £200,000-a-week forward has netted seven goals in 13 games against Manchester City, and also has seven goals in nine outings against Manchester United.

There is absolutely no evidence to suggest Salah’s golden spell of form will ‘dry up’ anytime soon – Sutton’s claim is truly bonkers.

Nevertheless, if it comes true, we’ll never question Sutton again.
