Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has told Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimarães that he is ‘ace’ on Instagram after he featured for Brazil at the Qatar World Cup.
Given the high-level of talent Brazil boss Tite can pick from, Guimarães still wasn’t handed a start during what was a dead-rubber game for the South American giants against Cameroon on Friday.
Instead, the in-form Newcastle midfielder came off the bench, but he was unable to prevent the African side, who ended up getting knocked out, from securing a 1-0 win.

Vincent Aboubakar was the man who got the winning goal late on for his side, and Guimarães actually had a chance to level the scores in stoppage time, but his acrobatic effort from inside the penalty area wasn’t enough.
Even though the World Cup favourites qualified without any issues, there was still an air of disappointment from the players because of that defeat.
Guimarães was no different on IG and he urged his nation to ‘keep going’ and trust the ‘hard work’ and ‘effort’ they are putting into becoming champions.
In the comments section of his IG post, he was praised by Arsenal defender Gabriel, who told him ‘You are ace. Let’s go, bro’, whilst Joelinton called him ‘magic’ and Vinicius Jr simply added ‘let’s go’.
WILL GUIMARAES BE HANDED A START?
It’s South Korea in the round of 16 for Brazil and it’s a game they should see through.
The South Koreans play with a lot of energy and they will look to press Brazil into mistakes, as well as hurt them with their pace on the counter-attack.
But is the chance for Brazil boss Tite to start Guimarães? Or will he revert to type and play his best mate and West Ham midfielder, Lucas Paqueta, in his position instead?
