Liverpool first-team goalkeeping coach John Achterberg has sent a message to Rhian Brewster on Twitter following the striker’s departure from Anfield.
As announced on Liverpool’s official Twitter page, Brewster has joined Sheffield United from the defending Premier League champions.
According to Sky Sports, the transfer deal is worth up to £23.5 million, with the Reds having a 15% sell-on clause for the 20-year-old striker and a buy-back clause that is valid for the next three years.
Achterberg has wished Brewster the best of luck in his new adventure, and the striker himself has sent an emotional farewell message to Liverpool.
Good move for Rhian Brewster?
Brewster was going to find it hard to break into the Liverpool first team this season, and it makes sense that he has moved to United.
The Blades are a big club who are in the Premier League, and under manager Chris Wilder he will improve.
The 20-year-old could become a key figure at the Blades in the coming weeks and months, and regular first-team football will help him become a better striker, and perhaps Liverpool could re-sign him in the coming years.
