Domingos Quina was handed a first professional contract with the Hammers on Monday.

Promising West Ham United teenager Domingos Quina has told the club’s official website after signing his first professional contract that he chose to join the club as he wants to emulate the breakthrough of Reece Oxford.
Quina joined the Hammers academy in May 2016 after leaving their London rivals Chelsea, and made his first-team debut for the club against NK Domzale in the Europa League qualifying stages in July.
Now, the Portuguese youth international has signed his first professional terms after turning 17 at the end of last week.
Speaking to the club’s website after putting pen to paper on his deal, the attacker voiced his delight at his contract, and revealed his motivations for choosing West Ham in the summer.
Quina said: “I am very happy to have signed my first professional contract with West Ham and it has always been my dream. I chose West Ham because it is a great club and they like to give young players opportunities to break into the first-team like Reece Oxford and I hope to do the same.
“I like to enjoy my football and do things which people are not expecting. I really enjoyed my goal against Leicester [for the Under-23s in October] and it was a great moment. That was not the first time I had scored a goal like that and hopefully there is more to come!

“I know that talent alone is not enough to see me develop as a player and I just want to keep working hard every day. Hopefully I will get my chance. I want to make my Premier League debut as soon as possible and get more chances to play at London Stadium.”
Quina will be hoping that he gets the chance to replicate Oxford’s progression at the Hammers after signing professional terms.
Oxford has made 14 appearances for the Irons first team since making his senior debut in July 2015, as has gained a reputation as one of the brightest future talents of English football.
