Blackpool have not conceded a goal while Tottenham Hotspur loanee Grant Hall has been on the pitch.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Grant Hall has already had a season to remember, after being on the wrong end of an 8-0 defeat while on loan at Birmingham City, never playing another game for Blues and now beginning a new temporary stint, this time at Blackpool.
Hall is 23, and if he does want a future at Spurs he is going to need to start putting in performances that get Mauricio Pochettino’s attention.
But if this weekend is anything to go by, he is already a vital player for the Championship strugglers.
Hall made his first start since moving to Blackpool in the match with Wolves, and when the centre-back left the pitch in the 72nd minute the score was 0-0.
However, by the end of the game Wolves had scored two goals and secured a victory that kept them in the race for a play-off place.
When you consider that Hall’s early arrival in the previous league match against Millwall also led to a clean-sheet and a 1-0 win, the young defender appears to be making up for lost time.
In short, Blackpool are yet to concede a goal with Hall on the pitch, and that in itself is reason enough for Tottenham fans to take notice.
He has a long way to go before he is challenging the likes of Jan Vertonghen and Federico Fazio at White Hart Lane, but he appears to be over the ignominy of that 8-0 defeat.
