Stephen Warnock has told the Football Show on Sky Sports News (06/09/21 at 10:10 am) that fans will see the ‘better side’ to Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford on Wednesday.
The former left-back made it clear that ‘you can’t judge’ the Leeds striker on his England debut from the weekend.
Bamford was handed his first start for his country as the Three Lions comfortably beat Andorra 4-0 in their World Cup qualifier.
But it was a difficult afternoon for the man on debut, who was taken off after the hour mark with his country winning 1-0.
Warnock shared that fans will now see a different side to Bamford if he is handed minutes against Poland tomorrow.
“You can’t judge him on the Andorra game, whatsoever,” said Warnock. “You think how deep they defended. There was never going to be any space in-behind.
“It was always going to be a difficult afternoon for him because of that situation. I think as an option off the bench, he is a very, very good option.
“I think he is a tidy footballer. He’s different to Harry Kane, in the way that he plays, but don’t judge him on the Andorra game.
“Hopefully, he gets some part to play in the Poland game and he gets an opportunity to come on. And think that’s when you will see a better side to Patrick Bamford.”

Bamford had three or four Andorian shirts around him every time he tried to get on the ball, so that was no easy task.
Then his England teammates weren’t really helping him out because they were being selfish on the ball.
And by the time the likes of Jack Grealish and Mason Mount were on the field, Bamford was warming the bench.
If the £10 million Leeds star (BBC Sport) is given a chance off the bench then there’s no doubt that he will prove his worth to those critics.
