Troy Deeney told talkSPORT the ‘you would prefer’ to watch Leeds United than Tottenham Hotspur because the Yorkshire side have a ‘right bash at it’.

If there are two managers in the Premier League that have opposite styles than it’s the highly-regarded coach sitting on the Elland Road bucket and the trophy-laden Jose Mourinho at Tottenham.

But they have one thing in common and that’s the fact that they are highly demanding of their players regardless of what they are asked to do on the pitch.

A lot was made of Leeds’ 6-2 defeat to Manchester United from the weekend, as Deeney heaped praise on Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

“If you had to watch your Spurs team, currently as you said was a shower using your words, you would prefer to watch that Leeds team and have a right bash at it,” said Deeney.

“I don’t think Leeds are in this league saying ‘Oh, we are going to win the league this year’. They are fearless. They are having a right good go at it and rough with the smooth.”

When Tottenham lock horns with Leeds at start of January, it will make for interesting viewing because of the contrasting styles.

Leeds need to be well aware that their forward-thinking and man-to-man marking ways will play into Tottenham’s hands because of their ruthless ability to counter and punish opponents.

So, it will be interesting to see what Leeds have learnt from that Old Trafford showing because they cannot afford too many more of them this season.
