Simon Jordan told talkSPORT that it would be ‘chaos’ if Arsenal appointed Antonio Conte as their next manager.

The new Premier League season hasn’t started in the manner Mikel Arteta would have liked as his Arsenal side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brentford last Friday.

The signs indicate that Arteta won’t last too long in Arsenal colours this season and it was suggested by Darren Bent on talkSPORT that the North London club should replace the Spanish coach with Conte.

But former Crystal Palace owner Jordan warned about the problems that might face the Gunners if they brought in the 52-year-old.

“If you start linking someone like Antonio Conte to Arsenal, can you imagine him being at Arsenal?” questioned Jordan.

“The guy is a very good manager. But he’s a nightmare to work with. He doesn’t like anything unless he gets what he wants. There is a case to be said that they should get what they want. But there has to be a reason at the end of it.

“It’s not your money. You don’t run the football club. You have to work with a framework. Conte doesn’t believe that’s applicable to him.

“But can you imagine him going to Arsenal with silent Stan over here? And Edu? You would have chaos.”

Whether Conte is a popular figure or not, one thing is for sure, he has proved that he can get the job done.

The Italian’s methodical, highly demanding and relentless ways are qualities Arsenal could do with.

The ex-Chelsea boss doesn’t have the DNA that Arsenal used to showcase under Arsene Wenger, but that fancy football has now long gone.

And before Wenger, the Gunners used to be a Conte-like team in their style, so it wouldn’t be such an issue if the club decided to go down the road in bringing in the free agent as their next manager.
