‘You watch’: Ian Wright claims Tottenham have four players who can ‘frighten’ you

Ian Wright has claimed that Tottenham quartet Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli can ‘frighten you’ when on form, as he told the Kelly and Wrighty Show.

The former Premier League striker thinks Nuno Espirito Santo needs to ‘get more’ out of his attack-minded Tottenham players.

Three of those players started Spurs’ 2-1 win against Aston Villa, before the international break, with Alli not included by his manager.

Even though Kane is out-of-sorts, it’s obvious that he and Son are going to be regulars, regardless of how they are playing.

The same can’t be said for the other duo, who have been up and down during their time in North London.

Nonetheless, this is what Wright had to say about four of Tottenham’s forward-thinking players and how someone like Ndombele ‘needs a rocket’

“The same with Ndombele, with the ability that I have seen, they have to get more out of him because he is creative,” said Wright. “He’s the person that they are going to need in there, alongside Hojbjerg and whether it’s Skipp or Winks.

“To get that creative energy going. To get Dele going. To get Harry going. To get Son going. He’s got the pieces, it’s how he wants to get it done because you look at those players I have named, those four players alone, that’s enough to frighten you when they are on form.

“Ndombele, when you watch him, he needs a rocket. When you look at technical ability, and what he’s capable of, he’s got more and somebody has to get it out of him.”

In the summer, it felt like Ndombele was probably heading for the exit door and it’s a scenario that he has faced before.

But he’s back up and running again, including putting in top-quality performance in his last outing.

The major problem that he faces, and this was evident against Chelsea, is that he cannot produce the goods over the course of 90 minutes.

If he could then Spurs could have the answer to a number of their problems, including stopping a certain Kane from drifting deep and into less attacking areas.
