WWE icon Kurt Angle has taken to Twitter to react after hearing that Arsenal played his theme tune at half-time against Crystal Palace.
The song followed the Olympic gold medalist throughout his wrestling career, in which it was usually met with cries of ‘you suck’ from the crowd.
After watching a video of what the Gunners did, Angle tweeted the following to his 1.2 million Twitter followers.
The wrestling icon mentions that the only thing missing from the clip was thousands of supporters, before going on to say that COVID-19 sucks.
Funnily enough, having a song commonly associated with the phrase ‘you suck’ perhaps isn’t going to motivate the Arsenal players.
That much proved to be true.
Despite an improved second-half performance, Mikel Arteta’s side couldn’t break down a spirited Crystal Palace display.
There simply weren’t enough hammer-blows from the north Londoners, as WhoScored shows they managed just four shots on target.
Worryingly, none of those came from Alexandre Lacazette.
Hilariously, Rob Holding even managed to have two efforts on goal, whereas the Frenchman had none against Roy Hodgson’s men.
The stalemate stunted Arsenal’s fine form, as Arteta saw four wins on the bounce curtailed by a goalless draw to the south Londoners.
