West Ham United have endured a miserable campaign thus far.

The east London outfit have often been criticised for paying their players far too much money, so Gold’s move to highlight this fact seems strange to say the least.
The Hammers currently sit in 18th position in the Premier League table, after their woeful return of just 10 points from their opening 13 League games, and Gold, alongside fellow co-owner David Sullivan have incurred the wrath of the London Stadium faithful.

Popular West Ham fansite Claret & Hugh today released figures showing West Ham as the continent’s 14th highest payers of players’ wages, ahead of the likes of Everton, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.
Both Gold and Sullivan have been accused of failing to bring in enough quality to the club, whilst ploughing wasteful money into the club’s wage structure.
And the club’s co-owner took to Twitter today, sharing the top 20 list of Europe’s highest payers – a move that backfired quite drastically.
