Peter Crouch has taken to Twitter to congratulate Mohamed Salah, after the Liverpool forward followed in his footsteps against Inter Milan last night.

What’s the story?

Well, Salah scored Liverpool’s second goal last night as the Reds recorded an impressive 2-0 win at the San Siro.

In doing so, the £34m man became only the second player to score against both AC Milan and Inter Milan in the same Champions League season.

The first? Crouch. Back in the 2010/11 campaign, the 41-year-old scored against both Italian giants as Tottenham reached the quarter-final stage.

You can see what the former Liverpool striker wrote on Twitter below.

Salah has broken countless records since arriving at Anfield, although Crouch – jokingly – claimed this was the one he wanted to match.

It was a huge goal, as it gives Liverpool a cushion to take back to Anfield.

Liverpool and Mohamed Salah can win it

Last night, Jürgen Klopp showcased his wealth of options.

The German started the likes of Sadio Mane, Harvey Elliott, Diogo Jota, Thiago and Mohamed Salah, in what was a star-studded lineup.

However, when things weren’t going too well, Klopp reacted by bringing on Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson.

The substitutions changed the game, and with squad depth like that under a manager who’s won the Champions League before, we see no reason why the Reds can’t go all the way once again.

That’s even without mentioning Ibrahima Konate, who had an outstanding game after being selected ahead of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.

There are so many options at Liverpool right now, and if Klopp uses them correctly, he can bring a seventh Champions League back to Anfield.
