Bruno Lage has made it clear that Tottenham target, Adama Traore, is ‘very happy’ to be at Wolves, as he told BBC Sport.

On Saturday afternoon, Traore helped Wolves record a 2-1 win over Brentford, including the in-demand winger scoring a late disallowed goal.

Only hours before, transfer expert, Fabrizo Romano, was reporting on Twitter that Tottenham were ‘confident’ of signing the winger.

At this moment in time, Traore is still in Wolves colours, bulldozing his way past defenders and causing havoc in the final third.

Whilst it eventually got ruled out, when Traore scored his disallowed goal at Brentford, there were wild scenes involving the Wolves players and the bench when they thought the Spain international had scored.

After the match, amid the speculation, Lage made it clear ‘you see the way he celebrated’, as he seemingly dismissed suggestions he could be off.

“I am very happy with him,” said Lage. “And I think he is very happy with us, so he played 25 minutes and brings a lot of energy.

“He scored the third [disallowed] goal to finish the game, you see the way he celebrated and he comes to me and we share a hug between us?

“I’m very happy with him.”

If Traore does indeed head towards north London to work under Antonio Conte’s stewardship, then it will be an exciting prospect for all.

Conte is known to get the best out of ageing stars, players possibly on the struggle, players trying to get the best out of their talents or other players that aren’t deemed good enough for the top.

Traore falls into the bracket of someone who has all the weapons in his armoury, but he just doesn’t know how to use them.

Well, if they are handed over to Conte, then the Italian might transfer the Spanish speedster into one of the world’s best wing-backs.

One thing is for sure, you wouldn’t want to bet against it happening because he has changed the fortunes of players that have had far less talent than Traore.
