Jose Enrique has posted on Instagram ‘you never know’ about Liverpool possibly signing Arsenal transfer target Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

It’s perhaps a shot in the dark for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but could those running their ship surprise their fans before Tuesday’s cut-off point?

Well, one thing the footballing world knows is that Caicedo wants to leave Brighton, he made that public a few days ago.

This comes after Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal expressed an interest to sign the 21-year-old before deadline day, as they look to bolster the defensive side of their midfield in their title push alongside Manchester City.

Caicedo is a player many top teams could do with, it could be argued that Klopp needs a player of his ilk more than those in north London because of their current position compared to Arsenal.

Nonetheless, following Caicedo’s statement, former left-back Enrique was told on a Liverpool fan page on Instagram that the midfielder would be ‘perfect’ for their system and whether they should push for him, amid interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.

“I really doubt we will do it,” said Enrique. “But you never know,” he wrote in the comments section.

LIVERPOOL WATCH ON…

Chelsea have thrown more cash during these past two windows than many teams do in their lifetime, whilst Arsenal aren’t just sitting on their current dominance at the top.

These were two teams that finished below the Reds last season and, at the very least, those in north London will change that this term.

The issue Liverpool have is that Newcastle United are also going for it, so that’s another team they are likely to finish behind, whilst Tottenham, Manchester United, Brighton and Fulham are all having better seasons.

All in all, it’s not looking good for those on Merseyside.
