Speaking to Secolo XIX (Via FC Inter News) reported Tottenham target Mikkel Damsgaard has addressed speculation about his future.
Spurs have been strongly linked with the Danish international in recent months, so as you can imagine, when he was interviewed his future was a hot topic.
Unfortunately for Tottenham, it seems as though he’s happy to stay at his current club, but he’s admitted that his situation could change quickly.
“Staying at Sampdoria? Of course, why not! You never know and in football everything depends on performance and everything changes quickly,” Damsgaard said.
Interestingly, Damsgaard was asked during that same interview about which players he idolises, and one of the names he mentioned in response was ex-Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, an admission that is bound to fuel the flame of any speculation about him joining Spurs.
“My idols are Eriksen and Schmeichel, who are doing great things with the Denmark shirt, then many compare me to Laudrup and for me this is a great honor .”

Could Damsgaard follow in his idol’s footsteps and become a Spurs hero? Time will only tell, but it seems as though he’s not focused on getting a move away from Sampdoria at the moment.
Tottenham certainly have an interest, and he’s reportedly available for a fee of €20m (£17.3m), so a deal wouldn’t be too costly if the London club opt for a move.
