Kris Boyd has said that Chelsea should not hire Mauricio Pochettino, but they should go after another former Tottenham Hotspur manager – Jose Mourinho.
Pochettino is reportedly close to becoming the new Chelsea manager, but Sky Sports pundit Boyd believes that the Blues should move for another former Spurs boss Mourinho, who, like the Argentine, was sacked as well by the North London club.
The Portuguese boss was in charge of Chelsea for two different spells and is now the manager of Tottenham.
The former Manchester United boss was the manager of Tottenham as well before club chairman Daniel Levy sacked him.
Former Rangers and Scotland international striker Boyd believes that Chelsea should now go and get Mourinho.
The Times have reported that Pochettino could be offered the Chelsea manager’s job today if the final talks go according to plan.
Mourinho seems happy at Roma.
The Italian club could finish in the top four of Serie A table this season and could also win the UEFA Europa League.
Roma won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.
