Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been speaking about Liverpool’s Divock Origi and Jurgen Klopp’s comments about him after the game against Wolves at the weekend.
Origi, in typical fashion, scored a late winner at Molineux on Saturday and as you can imagine, Klopp was waxing-lyrical about him after the game.
The German didn’t shy away from the fact that Origi doesn’t play that much football, stating that he hopes one day he can find a manager who will play him more.
However, Seaman believes that Klopp isn’t quite being honest about wanting Origi to find another manager.
What’s been said about Origi?
Seaman spoke about Klopp’s comments on Origi.
“Did you hear Jurgen Klopp’s comment afterwards? He said ‘I would love to find him a manager who would play him more.’ I was thinking ‘you liar!’,” Seaman joked.
“There’s no way he means that,” Seaman’s co-host agreed.
Why would he say that?
We can’t help but agree with Seaman here, why would Jurgen Klopp hope that Origi can find another club and a manager who will play him more?
Fair enough, he’s a talented player who should be playing more football, but Klopp would be an absolute fool to want Origi to move on when he continuously pops up with these goals.
Yes, Origi starting on a weekly basis may be better for the player’s career, but Liverpool would be losing one of the most reliable and brilliant super-subs in Premier League history if Origi did leave in pursuit of more minutes.
Klopp may say that he hopes Origi can find a manager who will play him more, but it wouldn’t surprise us if the German was secretly desperate to keep the Belgian around as his secret weapon.
