Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing what Jürgen Klopp said about the club’s lack of transfer activity.

What’s the story?

Well, speaking to BILD, Klopp doesn’t actually sound too interested in signing new players.

The German said: “It’s not that much fun when you have 40 players and 22 of them are not in a good mood any weekend. With us, all players have a right to exist and are very satisfied, but bringing in players just doesn’t make sense.”

Understandably, the transfer-hungry Liverpool fans on Twitter didn’t enjoy reading these comments.

So far, the Reds have made just one new signing in Ibrahima Konate, who arrived from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £36m.

Unless something comes out of the blue, it seems that will be the only business Liverpool do this summer.

With Chelsea and Manchester City strengthening significantly in the signings of Romelu Lukaku and Jack Grealish, that is quite concerning.

Liverpool fans should trust Jürgen Klopp

As aforesaid, while it is a bit worrying to see rivals bolstering their squads, Liverpool fans should trust Klopp.

Why? Well, just look at what Mauricio Pochettino achieved in the 2018/19 season without making a single addition, and with a significantly weaker squad to what Klopp already has.

The Argentine led Spurs to the Champions League final, and also secured a place in the top four.

Of course, Liverpool fans want more than just top four, but the point still stands – signings aren’t everything.

Keeping a crop of world-class players together, who all know each other well and have already succeeded together, can be just as effective as a splurge of activity in the market.

In our view, the Reds will be fine this season.

For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Klopp’s comments…
