Tottenham Hotspur will be without Dele Alli for their return to Premier League action next week.

Spurs resume their season with a visit of Manchester United on Friday week – their first match in over three months.

But Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho won’t have Alli available to him after a club statement from the North Londoners today.

They confirmed that Alli had received a one-match ban from the Football Association for a remark he made on social media with regards to the global health crisis.

Here’s how Tottenham fans reacted to that punishment on Twitter:

It’ll be fascinating to see how Alli performs when he’s eligible to do so.

He has been very hit and miss since Mourinho took over from Mauricio Pochettino in November, and it’s clear that he could benefit from a little more consistency.

Tottenham are eighth in the Premier League table and seven points behind Chelsea in fourth.
