Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to Nuno Espirito Santo talking about playing the ‘Tottenham way’, as he told Football London.
Over the weekend, Spurs were demolished by their North London rivals, in what was one of their worst performances in recent years.
A lot was made, and has been this season, of the club’s tactics and the methods Nuno is using.
On Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher ripped the team to shreds, including the vast amount of space they were leaving in the middle of the park against Arsenal.
Ahead of Tottenham’s Europa Conference League clash against Mura tonight, Nuno was asked about the club’s style and approach this season.
“I have been told about the (Tottenham way),” said Nuno. “It’s football. Everybody wants to play well and play good football.
“This is what we want and we have to build towards it.”
Spurs fans haven’t reacted well to Nuno’s comments and some feel it just goes to show where he is at that he has to talk about the ‘Tottenham way’.
Added with that, the supporters want to see action, rather than words from their key figures, such as Nuno and the players.
Even in their current troubles, Spurs should ease to victory tonight in the Europa Conference League.
But the real test will come at the weekend when they taken on Aston Villa, who beat Manchester United last Saturday.
