Neville Southall has criticised Arsenal central defender David Luiz in iNews.
The former Everton goalkeeper has a theory why Chelsea manager Frank Lampard decided to sell Luiz in the summer of 2019.
The Welshman believes that one cannot trust the Brazil international central defender completely on the pitch, adding that the 33-year-old – who can also operate as a defensive midfielder – loses his concentration.
Southall wrote in iNews: “I know Luiz was man of the match for Arsenal in their FA Cup semi-final but I still think you take him at your peril.
“Every now and again he’ll do something mad – you know what you’re getting 85 per cent of the time but you just hold your breath for the other 15 per cent.
“He doesn’t seem a dishonest person but if things get too easy he just seems to lose his concentration so I can understand why Lampard thought, ‘I can’t have him here’.”

Stats
Luiz joined Arsenal from London rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2019.
According to WhoScored, the Brazilian made 31 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Gunners this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.
The central defender also played five times in the Europa League and in four FA Cup ties, according to WhoScored.
Arsenal stay
Luiz is not going anywhere and will be at Arsenal next season at least, and perhaps head coach Mikel Arteta can play him in a back-three all the time to get the best out of him.
While the defender does make mistakes, he can also come up with some superb tackles and blocks, and is a leader at the back.
