Romelu Lukaku has posted on Instagram that he has been ‘inspired’ by West Ham United’s Jesse Lingard.
Lukaku scored in Inter’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo yesterday, to keep their title hopes alive.
And it seems that he has been paying close attention to Lingard’s progress at West Ham.
Lingard and Lukaku both played together at Manchester United and formed a good relationship.
And Lingard’s recent form has caught the eye of the striker, who is being talked up as an £85 million purchase (Calcio Mercato).
He said: “I had to rush forward but it wasn’t like you but you inspired me,” after Lingard has posted ‘beast’ on his image.
Lukaku was likely referencing Lingard’s most recent goal for West Ham, which came against Wolves earlier this week.

Lingard showed his dribbling skill, pace and composure as he stormed through the Wolevs’ defence and scored with a brilliant finish to help the Hammers to a 3-2 win.
The England international now has six goals in nine Premier League matches for David Moyes’ side, and really seems to be enjoying his football again.
