Clinton Morrison has claimed that the Leeds United players will have to ‘Google’ whoJesse Marsch is, as he told Super Matchday on Sky Sports.

The former striker was told by Sky reporter, Tim Thornton, that Marsch is expected to be the man to replace Marcelo Bielsa in the Leeds dugout.

On Sunday, the Yorkshire club made the difficult call to sack Bielsa as their manager following their 4-0 defeat to Tottenham.

It wasn’t just a case of the Whites suffering defeat after defeat, but the volume of goals they were conceding was alarming.

Well, if it is Marsch who takes to the Elland Road dugout, then he has a massive task on his hands.

Firstly, Sky reporter Thornton shared his thoughts on Marsch, before Morrison added his views.

“One of the things with Bielsa is that he signs a rolling contract every year,” said Thornton. “So, Leeds have to have a succession plan in place, in case, he doesn’t sign that new deal.

“For example, in the coming summer, they would have had a succession plan and Jesse Marsch is one of the names that has been talked about.

“That process we expect to be accelerated. It’s very important, with Premier League survival in mind, they do get someone in very, very quickly. They are hoping to have someone in place by Monday.”

Morrison added: “You have to Google him. No disrespect to him, he’s not a household name in management. You have to see what style of play he is because you are not going to know much of him.

“So, you have to Google him and see what he is like. Then you wait and see the impact he has on the training ground. That’s a big thing.”

Marsch’s biggest success came at RB Salzburg where he helped a certain Leeds-born Erling Braut Haaland storm onto the footballing stage.

The American was recently appointed as RB Leipzig’s coach in Germany’s top-tier, but five months later, he was out of the door.

That, added with his lack of experience in England’s top-flight, might just prove to be a worry for this Leeds side during such pressure coming months for the club.

But Mauricio Pochettino didn’t manage in the Premier League before his successes at Southampton and Spurs, so there is no reason why Marsch can’t follow suit.
