Former Premier League striker Asamoah Gyan stated on Instagram that Thomas Partey has ‘our full support’ ahead of his arrival at Arsenal.

Whilst Partey signed for Arsenal on Deadline Day, he has only recently joined up with his new teammates after returning from international duty.

Gyan would have seen first hand as to what Partey is like because they would have shared the same field for Ghana.

But now the former Sunderland striker has backed him to thrive in his new surroundings, as Arsenal fans will love the message he sent from his Instagram account.

Given that Partey will only have a few days of training with his new teammates under his belt, it will be interesting to see if Mikel Arteta starts him against Manchester City.

The one positive is that from a fitness aspect, he is raring to go because he only recently played in a number of matches for his home country, including supplying two assists as Ghana thrashed Qatar 5-1.

Even if Partey doesn’t start, he will be expected to make an appearance from the bench, as his arrival has provided the Gunners with a boost.

Arsenal fans have been crying out for a player of his calibre for some while now and if he can replicate the form he showed for Atletico Madrid then they are in for a treat.
